Find the median value of a list of integers. If the list has an odd number of elements, the median is the middle element. If the list has an even number of elements, the median is the average of the two middle elements.

Examples:

Input: numbers = [5, 2, 9, 1, 7] Output: 5 Explanation: After sorting, the list becomes [1, 2, 5, 7, 9]. The middle element (at index 2) is 5. Input: numbers = [8, 4, 6, 2] Output: 5 Explanation: After sorting, the list becomes [2, 4, 6, 8]. The middle elements are at indices 1 and 2 (values 4 and 6). The average is (4 + 6) / 2 = 5.
