Lightning Challenge features

Lightning Challenge is a practice platform for Salesforce developers. You solve Apex and LWC coding challenges, get graded automatically, and earn points on a leaderboard.

Who it's for

  • Salesforce admins moving into Apex and code.
  • Developers preparing for the Platform Developer I (PD1) certification exam.
  • Developers getting ready for a Salesforce developer job interview.
  • Experienced developers keeping their Apex and LWC skills sharp.

It is not a fit for admin-only (no-code) training.

How it works

  1. Pick a challenge. Each one has a problem statement, starter code, and hidden tests.
  2. Write your solution in the in-browser code editor.
  3. Apex runs in your own free Salesforce Developer Edition org or Trailhead Playground, connected once with OAuth. LWC challenges compile on our servers and run in your browser, with no org needed.
  4. The tests grade your code and show which ones passed. A correct solution earns points on the leaderboard. Solving the daily challenge on its day earns full points.

Ask Wally for hints or help debugging a failing solution. Wally points you in the right direction instead of giving away the answer. Free accounts get a few messages a day; Pro is unlimited.
